HIGHLIGHTS OF 2008:

12th of December: A very sad note to end the year with, Bracken, the "Maligold" bitch identical to Matilda, died today of cancer. We feel very sad for her brother Bayley and her owners Pennie and Simon.

10th of December: Okay it's official. Rocco is staying.

29th of November: Ripley wins Best of Breed at Burton on Trent open show.

22nd of November: Ripley wins Best of Breed at West Torrington open show. Ginny eye tested clear.

November: Linda Swain's XANDA ("Maligold") became best overall dog in her local obedience club!

9th of November: Abby takes VHC out of 14 at her first ever Championship Show; the Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club.

28th of September: Ripley (Sabrefield Zimply Zuper) took BOB and the single CC at Belfast Championship show. Lance (Goldmali Action Hero, owned by Jennifer Skelly) took BD and the Reserve CC. Z was RBD. All 3 dogs gained their stud book numbers.

9th of September: Rio gives birth to TEN puppies!

6th of September: Goldmali Angel ("Cleo", owned by S & C Bennett) gains her stud book number at Richmond Championship show by winning Open bitch.

3rd of August: Abby is Best Puppy in breed at Scunthorpe Open show.

2nd of August: At the BSD Association's Championship show under a foreign judge Ripley, Z and also Goldmali Brown Sugar are all graded EXCELLENT. (Rio stayed at home of course!)

Brown Sugar (Tanni, owned by Janice Tyers) also won Limit bitch.

9th and 11th of July: RIO is mated to Ch. Bonvivant Esprit ! All being well we will have Malinois puppies around the 10th of September.

4th of July: After a journey through several countries taking nearly 3 days, Ripley took part in the WORLD DOG SHOW in Sweden where she was graded EXCELLENT by a German judge (the ONLY UK bred Malinois there to gain an Excellent) and was placed 3rd in the veteran class. More photos will be added to a separate page when I get the time!

22nd of June: Just before the high winds caused Blackpool Championship Show to be cancelled and evacuated, Rio was awarded 1st in PGB, Z was 1st in PGD, Best Dog and BOS, but Ripley only managed a 2nd in Open.

14th of June: Northern Belgian Shepherd Dog Club Championship show with international judge Pauline F E Stern-Hanf.

Z was graded Excellent and won PG dog. Rio didn't do quite as well this time -Graded Very Good. Ripley Graded Excellent, 1st in Veteran Bitch, 2nd in Open Bitch (beaten only by the BOB, her cousin Polly), then Best Veteran in Breed, Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve BOB ! Beating a few Champions along the way.

8th of June: Sutton in Ashfield Open Show. Rio wins PG, Ripley wins Open. Ripley takes RBOB.

18th of May: Matilda and Pippin became canine blood donors for Pet Blood Bank UK together with our vets,

Beechwood veterinary hospital. Both dogs were very good.

17th of May: All the Malinois are now qualified for Crufts again (2009) as Rio got her qualification at the Scottish KC championship show.

14th of May: Ginny passed her KC Good Citizen Bronze test and Kiara her Silver test.

8th of March: A day with very, very mixed news indeed. We received the hip scores for Rio (5/4) and Kiara (7/4) as well as Kiara's elbow scores (0/0.) Good scores indeed.

We attended Crufts where Ripley won 1st in Good Citizen bitch. Rio was unplaced, Z, Cleo and Tanni had lower placings.

The same day, we later found out, our wonderful vet John Hammill, (my vet for 17 years), died suddenly. We shall all miss him a lot.

6th of March: Rio, Ripley, Z and also newcomer ABBY the Papillon (who shall soon get her own page) took part in Discover Dogs at Cufts. Rio was also eye tested at Crufts and was found to have perfect eyes.

1st of March: Janice Tyers's Tanni (G. Brown Sugar) 1st AV Open at an Open show.

26th of February: RUFUS  is 13 years old ! Amazing as he wasn't expected to live to 8 !

23rd of February: Elaine Cook's Goldmali Apple Of My Eye via Cookvale 1st out of 9 in AVNSC open at Matlock & District open show, then also BOB AVNSC and 3rd in the Pastoral group!

16th of February: We had to miss the NWPBS open show due to Ripley being injured, but Janice Tyer's Tanni (G.Brown Sugar) won the PG class.

9th of February: Newark & District CS Open show. Rio won the Open class (of 5) and took BOB, Z was second in open (to Rio, of course) and chosen as RBOB above the other class winner!

13th of January: Janice Tyers' Goldmali Brown Sugar (Tanni) BOB AVNSC at Welsh KC Open show.
